Prizes
Earned reputability, publicity, and status… but if you want money, we have that too.
Toda Peace Institute had funding for prizes:
- 1st place: $500
- 2nd place: $300
- 10 honorable mention prizes of $50
Even if you don’t win, you’ve made us smile, which is the real prize!
Who can participate?
The competition is open to everyone who wants to be a “changemaker” to build healthy digital communities. Special invitations for participation will go to the following groups:
- Kids of any age who have some awareness of peace and peacebuilding and are interested in fostering healthy online norms
- High school and college students who are already involved in social justice and peacebuilding efforts
- Peacebuilding organizations and community of practice of peace innovators
- Social media users interested in promoting peace and social justice
More Detailed Instructions
- Create digital content and send to an email address, noting whether you are okay with us tagging you or not.
- Digital Peace Factory staff will post this content with their name and/or organization to the Digital Peacebuilding sites on Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, and other relevant social media platforms.
- Our staff will count the number of likes, hearts, up votes, shares, etc. on each platform. We will calculate the most popular posts. (Shares are valued more than likes.)
- The top 20 posts will then be judged by a team for their content and creativity – how well the post communicates something about peacebuilding. The team of judges will then chose winners based on their content/creativity score plus the number of likes and shares.
Please refrain from
- Including references to political figures
- Including false information – satire is allowed if it does not include false information or harm to another
- Unkind humor
- Offensive content towards any particular group or identity
- Submitting memes created or captioned by others
